Well we made it to Ubud! That would be after almost missing our shuttle (oops!) maybe we were enjoying a caprioska before leaving Kuta. I’m already cracking up writing this I just know i’ll accidentally leave out details… too much.
So we get to Ubud, go to the hotel that we booked yesterday morning and they were full and we were without a room. we walked back the 10 minutes through the monkey forest and rice paddy’s,
visited 7 places… and all conversations went something like. “do you have room?” “maybe tomorrow” “so not tonight?” “maybe” “do you know of any rooms open?” “maybe you try that way?” “there are hotels that way?” “maybe” “all the placed in this town are booked aren’t they?” “maybe you try that way (pointing in the opposite direction than previously)” “hmm, ok” “maybe everyone make room before they get here.” … katie / amy: “maybe” lol… but we did find a place after almost passing out on the road, and after amy got an apple thrown at her head by a monkey. im laughing so hard right now i’m crying.
it seems we have lots of stories like this and we’re only on day 3 (or is it day 4?)_. enough to keep us entertained for the next few months…. between the fake mosquito nets, bees, beatles & flies attracted to my hair and the fact that we haven’t had a hot shower in days well… you get my point. since i’m limited in time i won’t tell you all the rest.
Since in Ubud we’ve done a crap load of walking (yes much of it while looking for a hotel) and other adventures
Okay, this internet cafe is hot, stuffy and this computer sucks so i’m off… off to Sanur tonight. Diving tomorrow.
